Halloween in our house is not a big deal, so it’s not surprising that I’m completely clueless about what food to serve at a Halloween kids party. Halloween, an American festival with Irish and Scottish origin are the spookiest holiday celebrated in the United States, Canada, Europe and other countries. If you are planning to celebrate the spookiest festival of the year, wherever you are in the world, but have no idea what are the best foods to serve at a kids or adult halloween party, read on as this post discusses halloween recipes and food ideas.

If you have a fetish for the creepy and spooky thing, throwing a Halloween party is a good idea as you can let out your creepiness and creativity through yummy food recipes that you can find online, preparing and serving spooky foods is a natural thing to do during halloween, so you can break free from serving traditional foods without anyone thinking you are weird or something. Come to think of it! You can have fun preparing a Halloween themed party, especially preparing the party food. That’s right, you can have a nice time turning any food into a creepy looking but delicious desserts, main course meal and more. But of course, a Halloween is incomplete without serving traditional Halloween foods, in the United States, so what are these staple foods that you need to serve.

By the way, Halloween is the only American holiday that has no particular banquet recipe, unlike thanksgiving wherein everyone serves turkey and a plethora of other foods. What are common during Halloween in United States, are candies, apples, pumpkin pies and creepy looking foods. Candies and chocolate are the main attractions because these sweet stuffs are part of the Halloween tradition. That’s why, I can serve anything I like as the only requirements for my themed party is the food must be creepy or spooky looking yet delicious. Anyway, in case this is your first time to throw a halloween bash or party, you don’t have to spend a lot of time wondering what to serve as I’m sharing my Halloween food ideas.

So, what is my halloween food menu? Well, kids love spaghetti, which is why it is on my list. And to make my spaghetti creepy, I’m shaping the meatballs into rats or eyes, maybe both. The idea is to make the foods fun as this is what kids and adults expect these days. Yup! The more gross looking the foods, the more kids love them.

One of the food idea I like so much is the Witch’s Fingers, a popular Halloween food as they go well with so called worm sandwich and also perfect for adults. It is also very easy to prepare, just prepare a cheese dough by mixing ½ lbs cheddar cheese, half a stick of butter (melted), two tablespoons of cornmeal and ¾ cup flour. Once your dough is ready, roll it into thin strips, and shape into a finger each strip with almond pressed into the end then bake for 15 minutes at 350°.

Mummified Dogs are also wonderful for kids and adult Halloween party as everyone loves hot dogs. Adding bite size mummy dogs to the Halloween spreads is an awesome idea as this is just easy to prepare. When it comes to the drinks, you can find a lot of recipes online for creepy drinks for both kids and adults, so don’t worry. Creepy drinks may be not necessary, but they can make the party even more awesome.

Serving Halloween cakes and cupcakes for desserts are also wonderful idea. Halloween inspired cupcakes, pop cakes or cakes are the perfect end to a fun menu. There are plenty of spooky cake recipes on the World Wide Web, so you can easily get an idea or inspiration.

Whatever you decide for your, keep in mind that out of the box party theme can make your halloween party a night to remember. You can mix old party tradition with modern ones by serving Halloween themed foods such as what I have mentioned earlier. Whether it is a full dinner or cocktail party, you can spice it up by serving spooky snacks and beverages. Halloween foods also serve up as party decors as ghoulish looking spreads can amp up the party atmosphere.
