IL Ponticello A Must Visit Italian Resto In Makati

Al Tonno Family Size P 553.57 (excluding VAT)

Looking for a perfect fine dining resto, wherein you and your special someone could be intimate? Well, look no more, as IL Ponticello is Makati’s best kept secret. In fact, this is not just a romantic place for couples but also a great resto to hang out with friends while enjoying a margarita or gin tonic.

What more, IL Ponticello also serves gastronomic Italian dishes that will make you smile while devouring every dish. This is something I have personally experience last Tuesday, when my husband and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary together with our kids and my dad.

4 Formaggi Pizza P 491.07 (Excluding VAT)
The place is cozy and not crowded when we visited it, but I found out that every Thursday the place is packed and during Friday and Saturdays as well. This Italian resto is located behind Cityland Herrera tower, at the second floor of Antell 2000 Bldg.

Angus Rib-Eye Steak P 607.00 (exclusive of Vat)

The ambience in IL Ponticello is cozy, classy and private, while the menu is full of wonderful mixed Italian dishes that simply sound good.

Since we are dining with the kids, so naturally, we ordered pizza and tried two of their best sellers and the pizza did not disappoint. The 4 Cheese Formaggi Pizza is the best and everyone simply love it, the cheese and the way the pizza was cook was too good, I think I could even eat the entire 12 inch pizza. We also tried, Capriccios and it was also good thou my kids prefer the Formaggi but this is worth trying also when at IL Ponticello.

Capriccios P 419.64 ( Excluding VAT)

My dad ordered Abruzzo and for P303.00, it was fine according to my dad but he finds the Costata Di Manzo Angus rib eye a bit tough, so he decided to give his meal to everyone who wants it. I guess, for him it was tough to eat but I find the meat all right.
The pasta named Al Tonno is delicious, as everyone just loves it, the serving for family size is good for 3-5 people but of course, it depends on how hungry you people are as my kids have plenty of choices.

My husband jay as usual, cannot live without rice so he ordered Affumicato P250.00 and Romagna P 366.00. The Romagna is an 8 pcs friend chicken that cooked just right, flavorful and good to eat alone.

By the way, the price indicated here does not include the 12% VAT and there is a 10% service charge.
In summary, if you are looking for a cozy ambience and good Italian dishes then IL Ponticello is the place to be.

Nothing Beats Barrio Fiesta's Crispy Pata and Kare Kare

Last Friday, we had an opportunity once again to dine at one of the oldest restaurants in Metro Manila that serves gastronomic Filipino dishes.

The restaurants that started as a small eatery in Caloocan, has now several branches to serve as many people who wants to enjoy authentic Filipino dishes. Dinning at Barrio Fiesta will certainly feels like you are celebrating fiesta.
Anyway, like I have said. I, with my husband, children, father and his cousin had a lunch at Barrio Fiesta, Ali Mall branch, in Cubao. I must say, it was a very good lunch as the food was simply delicious.

I enjoyed the meals, despite the fact that I have not yet fully regain my taste buds as I was just recovering from 4-day flu. Anyway, the lunch was not only fulfilling but also affordable, definitely pocket friendly, as our bill is only P2, 180.00 and that is less than $50.00 for a satisfying lunch.

Let me give you a rundown of what we have ordered, so you can have an idea on how much the food costs in Barrio Fiesta. We have ordered Crispy Pata (P520.00), Kare Kare family (P350.00), Patatim (P390.00), Lumpia Sariwa (P80.00 ea), Shanghai Rice (P165.00), 2 Plain Rice (P95.00 ea), 2x Halo-halo (P90.00 ea), Ice Tea Bucket (P90.00), 2 Pepsi (P50.00) and Hot Tea(P35.00).

The Crispy Pata is huge and so is the Patatim, the Kare-kare is more than enough for 5 adults and 3 children. The Shanghai rice has adequate servings as well, but the plain rice is just one plateful. So, if you guys are rice lover then it won’t be enough and it is also the reason why we have ordered another one.

The Lumpia Sariwa is big and two people can actually share on it, just like their halo halo. The ice tea is enough for all of us, but I am not fond of the flavor so I only drink half glass of it.

Overall, I highly recommend Barrio Fiesta if you feel like eating Filipino dishes. If you have guests visiting the country, then I suggest that you take them there for lunch or dinner and they will surely appreciate Filipino dishes.

Pazzo Rollio Only At Focaccia Restaurants

P380.00

Last Saturday is a me day, but not entirely just me…I was actually out with one of my oldest friend from high school… Well, as I said, I went out without my kids this time, which is seldom as I never really go out that much without the usual entourage.

So, I headed off to Makati and meet Michelle at Confetti Spa, after an hour massage we went to Tablao Flamenco to watch a show, then to Focaccia.

It is both our first time to dine here and I was surprised for they serve large servings. Two people can actually share their typical meal of pasta, and so as expected, we did not finish off our meals. Do not get me wrong, the food was simply delicious… I ordered carbonara and it was the best I ever had, as I have tried many before since it is a favorite of mine…

However, the pasta is not actually the main reason why everyone visits Focaccia. I believe, it is their pizza called Pazzo Rollio that made people come back again and again… By the way, this is not your average pizza because this is the only pizza wherein you roll a slice with veggies inside. Yup! To enjoy Pazzo rollio, you will have to roll a piece…

In fact, my son love it so much…I ordered a takeaway pizza and I must say, the “Slice of Italy” is worth the price of P380.00 and I can’t wait to try their other pizza selection, which is over 25 types. The pazzo rollio is highly recommended for people who simply love to try different foods. Ohhh! before i forgot, you get to enjoy a free focaccia bread as well...

Focaccia in the Fort Strip is a must visit restaurant if ever you are in Makati.

Henry’s Place By Good Earth – Fine Dinning Everyday

Peking Chicken P350.00

Burgos Circle is fast becoming a place to dine and unwind, and one of the restaurants that have caught our attention is the Henry’s Place By Good Earth.

Henry’s Place serves gastronomic Chinese delicacy that will surely pleasure the taste buds. Chef Henry, ensure that every meal is prepared carefully so diners can truly enjoy their foods. The first time my family and I dined at Henry’s we already knew that we would be back…and so we did.

Spring Roll P 105.00

Two weeks ago, we were back again and the second time around is indeed even more pleasurable. Since we wanted to try every dish, we have decided to order something new, so we ordered foods we have not tried the first time…except for the Peking chicken and yangchow fried rice.

Chow Mein is a must try, and I believe that everyone should try this dish when dinning out at Henry’s. My son love the lobster balls so much and the spring rolls is delicious. The only thing I have not really liked is the Taro balls, it is too soft in the inside…. Well, for me anyway, I am sure other people could appreciate it better.

Henry’s In Burgos Circle is a great place to eat comfort foods…If ever you are in the area then I suggest you drop by this restaurant. The servings are adequate for 2 or 3 people, and most of all the ambience is also excellent.
